Everything guests want to know before their first journey — booking, prices, waiting time, cancellation, the fleet and the most popular routes. If your question isn't here, call us; we answer around the clock.

Booking, prices and process

How do I book a chauffeur with Aven?: You book Aven online through the five-step booking form — service, route, vehicle, contact details, confirmation. We then call you, agree the fixed price and confirm the journey. You can also call or message us on WhatsApp and we will book it for you.
How much does a chauffeur cost in Switzerland?: It depends on the route, the vehicle class and the time. Aven does not publish prices online: we agree your fixed price personally — by phone, on WhatsApp, or in the callback after your booking request. The agreed price is per vehicle and does not change afterwards. Hourly hire starts at 3 hours and includes 20 kilometres per hour.
How can I pay?: Aven takes payment in the car by card or cash, or by arrangement on invoice with 30 days' payment terms. Online payment will be introduced at a later date.
Can I cancel free of charge?: Yes. With Aven, cancellation is free up to 12 hours before the agreed pickup time. Hourly hire and multi-day assignments have different notice periods, stated in your booking confirmation.
Do you drive into Europe?: Yes — Europe on request. Milan, Munich, Stuttgart, Innsbruck, Lyon, Paris and Vienna are the common ones, and other destinations are possible. Aven does not price international journeys automatically: tell us the route and date and you will receive a fixed price including tolls, vignettes and emission stickers. Please book at least 24 hours ahead.
Which regions do you cover?: Aven covers all of Switzerland, based in Zurich. Beyond that we drive Europe on request — Germany, France, Italy, Austria and Liechtenstein regularly, other countries by arrangement, with at least 24 hours' notice.
What languages do your chauffeurs speak?: Every Aven chauffeur speaks German and English and holds the Swiss federal passenger transport licence. Further languages can be arranged on request.
How late can I book?: Aven is reachable around the clock and will drive within a few hours if a vehicle is free. For guaranteed availability in Switzerland — particularly during the WEF in Davos — book considerably further ahead.
Is the price per person or per vehicle?: Aven prices per vehicle, not per person. Tolls, vignettes, parking at the pickup point, luggage, child seats and the included waiting time are all covered.

Airport transfer

How much does an airport transfer from Zurich cost?: The price depends on the route and vehicle class and is agreed personally — call, message us on WhatsApp or send a booking request and you will get a fixed price. Parking, tolls, luggage and up to 60 minutes of waiting are always included.
What happens if my flight is delayed?: Nothing — except that we arrive later. We monitor your flight number and adjust the pickup automatically. Delays carry no surcharge.
Where do I meet my chauffeur at Zurich Airport?: In the arrivals hall at your terminal exit, holding a name sign. You receive an SMS with your chauffeur's name and mobile number before landing.
Can I request a child seat?: Yes, free of charge. Please give the children's ages and number in the notes field when booking.
Do you also serve Geneva, Basel or Bern?: Yes. We serve every Swiss airport as well as EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse, including the French sector.

Chauffeur service & city-to-city

How much does a chauffeur service in Switzerland cost?: The price depends on distance, vehicle class and timing. We give it to you personally — by phone, on WhatsApp, or in the callback after your request. Once agreed, the fixed price does not change.
Is the price per person or per vehicle?: Per vehicle. Travelling alone or as a group of four makes no difference — only the vehicle class you choose.
Can I make a stop along the way?: Short stops are included in the fixed price. For longer waits or several stops we recommend hourly hire, which is usually the cheaper option.
Do you drive abroad?: Yes, to all neighbouring countries. Tolls, vignettes and emission stickers are included. Please book international journeys at least 24 hours ahead.

Hourly hire

What is the minimum booking?: Three hours. For anything shorter, a standard point-to-point transfer is usually cheaper.
What if my meeting runs long?: Just tell your chauffeur. We extend by the minute at the same hourly rate, provided the vehicle isn't already committed elsewhere.
Are kilometres included?: Yes, 20 kilometres per booked hour. Additional kilometres are charged at a fixed per-kilometre rate, shown transparently in advance.
Does the driver wait on site?: Yes. Waiting time, parking fees and standing time are included in the hourly rate.

WEF Davos

How do I get from Zurich Airport to Davos?: By road it is around 150 kilometres and about two hours via Landquart and the Prättigau valley. By train you travel from the airport via Zurich HB and Landquart with at least one change — realistically 2 hours 45 to 3 hours with luggage. A chauffeur takes you door to door without changing trains, and we handle your bags from the arrivals hall.
What is the best way to travel to Davos during the WEF?: For most guests, a private transfer from Zurich Airport: no changes, no hauling luggage, and the pickup time follows your actual landing. The train is the cheaper alternative and runs very full during WEF week. Helicopter transfers are possible but weather-dependent and constrained by airspace restrictions during the forum.
How long does the drive from Zurich to Davos take?: Around two hours in normal conditions. In heavy snow, convoy traffic or security checks during WEF week we deliberately plan extra time and tell you in advance if we should leave earlier.
How much does a Zurich to Davos transfer cost during the WEF?: For Zurich Airport to Davos we agree a fixed price per vehicle class that holds whatever traffic, diversions or airport waiting time do. We give you the price when we speak — call us or send a request. We do not charge WEF surcharges.
When should I book my WEF transfer?: As early as possible, ideally in October. From late November, capacity for WEF week is usually sold out — that applies to essentially every serious operator in the region.
Can you provide a car and chauffeur in Davos for the whole WEF week?: Yes. We station a vehicle and chauffeur on site — hourly or as a day rate, including night standby for late meetings and receptions. That is the usual arrangement for delegations moving between the congress centre, hotels and evening events.
Do I need a permit to drive into Davos during the WEF?: Not to reach Davos itself. Within the town, WEF week brings security zones, checkpoints and restricted access that are set afresh each year. Our chauffeurs know the current arrangements and where they are allowed to set you down.
Where will the chauffeur drop me off in Davos?: As close as that year's access rules allow — for most hotels, directly at the entrance. For addresses inside a security zone we take you to the nearest checkpoint and agree the exact spot with you beforehand.
Do you also drive to Klosters, Landquart or Chur?: Yes. Many guests stay outside Davos during the WEF because rooms there are gone. We serve everywhere in the Prättigau and the Grisons Rhine valley, and handle the daily commute into Davos.
What happens if my flight is delayed?: Nothing — except that we arrive later. We monitor your flight number and move the pickup to match the actual landing. For airport pickups, up to 60 minutes of waiting is included in the fixed price.
Do you collect from the private aviation terminal?: Yes, from the general aviation terminal in Zurich, and on request from Samedan, St. Gallen-Altenrhein or Dübendorf. Please state the terminal when booking so the chauffeur waits in the right place.
Can you coordinate several vehicles for a delegation?: Yes. We provide multiple vehicles with matched arrival times, coordinate driver changeovers and standby time in Davos, and give you one point of contact for the whole week.
Are your vehicles equipped for snow and mountain roads?: From November to April every vehicle runs winter tyres and carries snow chains. Our chauffeurs drive the Davos route regularly and know the winter pass conditions and diversions.
Is discretion guaranteed during the WEF?: Yes. We do not pass on guests' names or travel details. We will sign a non-disclosure agreement before the assignment on request.
How should I plan the departure on the last day of the WEF?: The final day is the bottleneck — everyone leaves at once. We plan the hotel pickup with a clear buffer for checkpoints and convoy traffic, working back from your departure time rather than from a standard journey time.
Do you offer short journeys within Davos?: Yes, as part of an hourly booking. For individual short hops between hotel and congress centre, a vehicle stationed on site is almost always more practical and cheaper than separate transfers.
Which airport is best for reaching Davos?: Zurich, at roughly two hours' drive, is the obvious choice. Munich or Milan are four to five hours depending on traffic — workable, but only worth it if the flight connection is significantly better. We serve all three.
What is included in the price?: Fuel, tolls, vignettes, parking at the pickup point, luggage, child seats and, for airport pickups, up to 60 minutes of waiting. There is no WEF surcharge and no night surcharge on the inbound journey.

Fleet

Can I reserve a specific car?: You book a vehicle class rather than an individual car. For special occasions — weddings, receptions, photo shoots — we reserve a specific vehicle in a specific colour on request.
How many suitcases fit in the Maybach GLS?: Four large cases plus hand luggage. For ski equipment or unusually large loads, talk to us before booking — we arrange a roof box or a second vehicle.
Are the vehicles ready for winter?: Yes. From November to April all vehicles run winter tyres and carry snow chains. Our chauffeurs drive the mountain routes regularly.
Do you have electric vehicles?: On request. For city journeys and shorter transfers we can schedule fully electric vehicles — please mention it when booking.

Routes

How long does the drive from Zurich to Davos take?: Around two hours via Landquart and the Prättigau valley. In heavy snow or during WEF week we deliberately plan extra time and tell you in advance if we should leave earlier.
Is a transfer worth it, or is the train better?: By train you go from the airport via Zurich HB and Landquart with at least one change — realistically close to three hours with luggage. A transfer takes you door to door with no changes and follows your actual landing time. For two or more people the price gap is usually smaller than expected.
Is the transfer available during the WEF?: Yes, we drive the route throughout the World Economic Forum. Capacity is usually sold out from late November, so book in October if you can. There is a dedicated WEF Davos page with the details.
Do you also drive to Klosters, Wolfgang or Davos Dorf?: Yes, at the same fixed price. Klosters, Davos Dorf, Davos Platz and Wolfgang all sit on the same route; just give us the exact address when booking.
Are the vehicles ready for winter?: From November to April every vehicle runs winter tyres and carries snow chains. Our chauffeurs drive the route regularly and know conditions in the Prättigau.
Can I bring ski equipment?: Yes. Please tell us about skis, snowboards or golf bags when booking so we can plan for a roof box.
What happens if the road is closed?: We take whatever alternative is open — the fixed price does not change. Diversions, traffic and extra driving time are at our expense, not yours.
How long does the drive from Zurich to St. Moritz take?: Around 2 hours 45 minutes via Chur and the Julier Pass. If the Julier is closed we use the Vereina car train, which adds roughly 30 minutes.
What happens if the Julier Pass is closed?: We take the Vereina car train between Klosters and Sagliains. The fixed price stays the same — the car train fee and the extra time are on us.
Train or transfer to St. Moritz?: The train to St. Moritz is spectacular but takes a good four hours from the airport with two changes. With luggage or ski equipment a transfer is far more practical; guests who want the scenery often take the train one way and a chauffeur the other.
Do you also drive to Samedan, Pontresina, Celerina or Silvaplana?: Yes, everywhere in the Upper Engadine. Samedan airfield is about five kilometres from St. Moritz; pickups at the general aviation terminal are available on request.
Can you drive during Snow Polo, White Turf or the Concours?: Yes. The Upper Engadine is very busy in those weeks — please book several weeks ahead and expect slower going in the village centre.
Can skis and luggage be carried?: Yes. We plan a roof box for ski equipment; please note it when booking.
Do you offer multi-day service in the Engadine?: Yes, as hourly hire or a day rate with the same chauffeur. That usually works out cheaper than separate transfers if you are out every day.
How long does the drive from Zurich to Basel take?: Around an hour via the A1 and A3, a little more in rush hour. For early meetings we set the pickup time from live traffic conditions.
Do you also drive to EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse?: Yes, including the French sector. Please tell us which exit you need when booking — the two sectors share a building but have separate approaches.
Can you drive to meetings at Roche, Novartis or on campus?: Yes. For several meetings in one day we recommend hourly hire: the chauffeur stays with you and waits between appointments, which in Basel usually costs less than separate transfers.
Do you drive during Art Basel or trade fairs?: Yes. The city is fully booked in those weeks and access to the exhibition grounds is restricted at times — book early and allow a buffer.
Can you cross into Germany or France?: Yes — Freiburg, Mulhouse, Colmar or Strasbourg. Tolls, vignettes and emission stickers are included; please book international journeys at least 24 hours ahead.
Isn't the train to Basel faster?: From Zurich HB, yes — just under an hour. From the airport with luggage and a change the advantage shrinks, and a transfer takes you to the company address rather than the station.
Isn't the train to Lucerne easier?: From Zurich Airport the train takes a good hour with one change at Zurich HB — similar on time. The difference is luggage and destination: a chauffeur takes you to the lakeside hotel door rather than to Lucerne station.
How long does the drive from Zurich to Lucerne take?: Around 55 minutes via the A4 and A14, making Lucerne one of the quickest transfers from Zurich Airport.
Do you drive directly to the lakeside hotels?: Yes, right to the entrance — Bürgenstock, Vitznau, Weggis or the hotels on the Schweizerhofquai. Just give us the hotel name when booking.
Is hourly hire worth it for a day trip?: From around four hours with several stops, hourly hire usually costs less than separate transfers — and your chauffeur stays with you instead of you waiting for another car.
Can you take me to Rigi, Pilatus or Titlis?: Yes, to the valley stations at Vitznau, Alpnachstad, Kriens or Engelberg. You book the mountain railways separately; on request the chauffeur waits until you are back.
Do you drive to conferences at the KKL?: Yes. For multi-day conferences we arrange fixed pickup and return times and, on request, a vehicle that stays on site.
Is the price per person or per vehicle?: Per vehicle. Travelling alone or as a group of four makes no difference — only the vehicle class you choose.
How long does the drive from Zurich to Geneva take?: Around three hours on the A1 via Bern and Lausanne. Rush hour around Bern or Lausanne can add time; the fixed price does not change.
Isn't the train faster than driving?: The direct train takes just under three hours from Zurich HB — similar overall, but from the airport it means a change and luggage. In the car you work undisturbed, travel door to door and can stop on the way.
Can we stop in Bern or Lausanne on the way?: Yes. Short stops are included in the fixed price; longer waits are billed as hourly hire, quoted transparently in advance.
Do you drive to the international organisations and Palexpo?: Yes — the UN, WHO, WTO, the banks along the quai and the Palexpo exhibition centre. For conferences with several appointments we recommend a vehicle that stays on site.
Can you collect me at Geneva Airport?: Yes. We serve Geneva in both directions, including the French sector and the general aviation terminal.
Is a same-day return possible?: Yes. For an out-and-back on the same day a day rate is usually cheaper than two separate transfers — tell us your schedule and we will price both.
Can you drive into the village of Zermatt?: No — Zermatt is car-free. We drive to the Täsch terminal, five kilometres short of the village. The shuttle train covers the last stretch in twelve minutes; on request we arrange an electric taxi to your hotel.
How long does the drive from Zurich to Täsch take?: Around 3 hours 25 minutes via Bern and the Valais. Including the shuttle train, allow roughly four hours in total.
Isn't the train to Zermatt easier?: The train from Zurich takes a good three hours with a change at Visp and is a fine option if you travel light. With skis, several cases or a family, being driven to Täsch and handed over at the platform is usually calmer.
Does the chauffeur help with luggage at the terminal?: Yes. Your chauffeur walks you to the platform and hands over your luggage. That is included in the fixed price.
Can you carry ski equipment?: Yes, with a roof box. Please tell us about skis or snowboards when booking so we can plan for them.
Do you also drive to Saas-Fee, Crans-Montana or Verbier?: Yes, all Valais destinations. Saas-Fee is also car-free — there we drive to the car park at the village entrance.
What about snow on the route into the Valais?: From November to April all vehicles run winter tyres and carry snow chains. If the Mattertal is closed for avalanche control we tell you early and adjust the departure time.
Train or chauffeur to Interlaken?: The train takes around 2 hours 30 from the airport with one or two changes, usually via Bern. There is little in it on time; with ski equipment, a pushchair or several cases, travelling without changes is considerably calmer — and we continue on to Grindelwald or Lauterbrunnen.
How long does the drive from Zurich to Interlaken take?: A little over two hours. Depending on traffic and weather we go via Lucerne and the Brünig Pass or via Bern — the scenic Brünig route on request.
Do you also drive to Grindelwald, Wengen or Mürren?: To Grindelwald yes, right to the hotel. Wengen and Mürren are car-free — for those we drive to Lauterbrunnen or the valley station, where the mountain railway takes over.
Can you take me to the Jungfraujoch railway?: Yes, to the valley station at Grindelwald or Lauterbrunnen. You book the railway tickets separately; on request the chauffeur waits until you return.
Do you continue to Gstaad or the shores of Lake Thun?: Yes. Gstaad, Thun, Spiez and the hotels on Lake Thun and Lake Brienz are all within reach of this route.
Is the scenic Brünig Pass route extra?: No. The Brünig route is included in the fixed price whenever it is passable — simply tell your chauffeur you would like the view.
Is a chauffeur worth it for a day in the Bernese Oberland?: If you want to see several places — Interlaken, Lauterbrunnen, Grindelwald, Thun — hourly hire is almost always cheaper and far more flexible than separate transfers.
